  54.     The best printout quality you will get with the "hpijs"
  55.     driver, provided by <a

  57.     (compatible to the HP DeskJet 990C), especially the 1200-dpi high
  58.     resolution mode gives excellent photo quality (the rendered bitmap
  59.     is 1200x1200 dpi, but the printer hardware does an interpolation
  60.     then and prints with the printer's highest resolution). Also
  61.     the Gimp-Print driver is reported to work (Model setting:
  62.     "pcl-900").<p>

  64.     When used with HP's "hpijs" driver, this printer
  65.     auto-detects the paper type and ink cartridge type and does
  66.     appropriate dithering and colour adjustment internally, controlled
  67.     by the hardware. So when Ghostscript with the "hpijs"
  68.     driver only renders the image with 300 or 600 dpi, higher
  69.     resolutions are used for the internal dithering. So if you insert
  70.     photo paper, the printer will print in photo quality, no paper
  71.     type choice in the driver's options is needed. There is also
  72.     a special high resolution mode where the image is rendered in 1200
  73.     dpi and interpolated to 4800x1200 dpi by the hardware, without
  74.     paper detection, intended for photo paper only.<p>

  76.     Border-less (full bleed) printing on paper sizes up to
  77.     Oufuku-Hagaki is supported with the "hpijs"
  78.     driver.<p>

  80.     In addition this device copies and prints photos directly
  81.     from CompactFlash, SmartMedia, and Memory Stick, but these
  82.     functions are currently only controllable by the front panel, not
  83.     by the PC. To choose photos from your memory card, the machine

  85.     mark which photos you want to print and how they should get
